Planting in the north and south gardens
We are pleased to report that planting is well under way in the north garden and has now started in the south garden. The work will continue as long as the weather allows now that the necessary funds are available. Planting will still come under the direction of contractors, Sebastian and Charles alongside our resident co-opted garden advisor David Brown.

Estate matters
We know that the various shrub borders behind Montgomery House, along the frontages of Darwin, Avon, Trent, Wye and Stour Houses and other small areas here and there need attention. It was unfortunate that a few mature shrubs on the frontages were badly damaged in one of the recent snowstorms. Dan, our groundsman is striving to save the plants following advice from the gardeners. Pruning and reassessment of the state of all the shrubs will be carried out during the year. Dan will also continue his hard work ensuring hedges that border the estate and side and entrance roads are kept clipped back and tidy. It was upsetting last summer to see much of the box hedging decimated by the box moth, but we have been assured that the plant can revive over time, and we are hoping that this will be the case for the box hedging on TOM.

Tree surgery
Trees around the estate that require pruning will be assessed this month by a tree surgeon and will be pruned before any new growth starts in the spring.

Bamboo situation
The Knotweed Company will be continuing the treatment of the bamboo, which is slowly dying off. This is a long process and work is contracted to continue until 2028. In the meantime, we can plant up most areas and this will obviously add to the
improvements in the gardens.

If you have any issues you wish to discuss with regards to the grounds or gardens please email our Warwick Estates property manager: Amy.Graham@we-pm.co.uk or fill out a report on the Warwick Estates customer portal.
