DIG THIS FEBRUARY - APRIL 2025

Saturday 1st February 2025

Spring is on its way……
It will be a while yet before spring arrives but in the meantime we will hopefully soon see the appearance of green shoots on the trees and plants.
Bamboo update. The elimination of the remaining areas of bamboo in both gardens is still ongoing and should reach its final phase in 2028. The bamboo
specialists, The Knotweed Company, will be returning this spring to carry out the treatment programme of spraying and wet-wiping to discourage any new
growth. We continue to seek guidance from the specialists on when to replant in the gardens.
The future regeneration and replanting of the grounds and gardens.
Both gardens are undergoing extensive pruning of shrubs and borders before plans are made for replanting. It is essential that any regeneration is thought through carefully and managed effectively with the participation of property manager Emma-Jayne Pepper. We know that she is (as are we), very impressed with the hard work that has been carried out over the winter months, by the gardeners, Sebastian Lupton and his team. We have also welcomed Dan
Corbett of D C Garden Services who is responsible for the upkeep of the rest of the grounds. Dan’s hard work so far has been noticed and much appreciated by
residents. In addition, we are pleased that Warwick Estates has taken on the services of a handyman, Edward Purchase who lives at The Old Meadow, which
will help in our endeavour to keep the grounds up to a good standard. Please contact Emma-Jayne if you have any issues regarding the grounds and gardens.
Tree surgery. A tree surgeon has been employed to carry out the necessary
removal, and in some cases crowning, of a number of trees throughout the estate. These works will be carried out where the surgeon has identified that the
trees are causing issues such as lifting paths or blocking light. For more information, please see the tree survey report available to owners in the
management section of our website at The Old Meadow
Gerry Smith (RMC) and David Brown (co-opted as a gardening advisor to
the RMC board).
