ON THE BRIGHT SIDE NOVEMBER 2021

Monday 1st November 2021

Work at Abbey Gardens
The latest news from Shropshire Council is that:
"All the contractors were fully booked up when we required the work to be done. The deadline for tenders to be returned is Wednesday (27 October) with the work to be completed by the end of the year"
So we hope that the work on the trees will be completed during 2021. It will probably be an easier job when all the leaves have dropped. This work was approved under planning application 21/00250/TCS.
Other work which was considered included the restoration of the ornamental seating, new litter bins, repairs to footpaths and stone walls, and shrub replanting. We have no date for this work.
For interest, November's gemstone is Topaz (for friendship) and the flower is the chrysanthemum, symbolising honesty, joy and optimism. All things we need!
