DIG THIS SEPTEMBER 2021

Wednesday 1st September 2021

September is here and the summer nearly over and we await the seasonal changes to our gardens.
The growth rate of all plants around the development has been significant this summer and has proved quite a challenge for the gardeners to keep up with.
The temporary planting of cosmos and begonias in the south garden has certainly provided a flush of colour. This area should soon see the planting of Salix shrubs to provide a more permanent and appropriate display.
The troublesome short bamboo species that is present in both feature gardens has been the subject of considerable debate within Board meetings of the RMC and a long-term solution to the problem is being considered.
We are hoping too to retain the services of Pippa Willcox, professional horticulturalist to help us plan for the necessary future work required on all the planted areas within the development. Now eight years on, it is fully recognised that the planting in several areas needs rejuvenating or replanting.
We are hoping by the time of the planned owners meeting in November to have some ideas to put forward as to how/when and at what cost such works can be undertaken.
Thanks once again to the keen volunteers who have watered tubs and flower beds during the recent dry spells.
