Transfer of the External Common Areas
Board members have continued to press Barratt David Wilson Homes (BDWH) on all of the outstanding matters relating to the transfer of the external common areas to an owner-led Residents' Management Company. We hope to arrange a face-to-face meeting with BDWH and its legal representative, along with representatives of the block landlords within the next month (Covid restrictions willing).

Estate finances
We continue our efforts to scrutinise the accounts provided by Warwick Estates relating to the external common areas for 2020.

Changes to exterior of homes - a reminder
Some owners have made changes to the exterior of their properties and, although often minor, collectively these alterations are beginning to impact on the overall consistent look and pleasing uniformity of The Old Meadow.

In its planning consent for the estate, Shropshire Council consistently used the phrase: "To maintain the character and appearance of the development."

Owners should note that any changes that are in breach of the property covenants or in breach of the Council's planning conditions could impact on the future sale of your home.

Please park courteously
We continue to have some on-going issues with parking and Warwick Estates is yet to resolve the signage issue with VCS. Please make sure you only park in your allocated space(s) and do not double park along the spine or side roads, in the "no parking" bays or in a space belonging to another resident (without their permission).

Adoption of sewage system
We are also pressing BDWH to finalise the works required by Severn Trent Water to allow it to adopt the estate's sewage and water run off systems. Please note that any blockages or issues with drainage caused within your property are your responsibility; so do please be mindful of what you put down your drains and toilets. We all rely on everyone being careful.

Communal TV system
If you are having any works carried out to upgrade your TV system, particularly the addition of SKY services, please note that access to the communal systems (housed in the blocks) should only be carried out with the permission of the managing agents, Warwick Estates. We have had two recent episodes of TV services being lost to a large number of properties because of SKY engineers making unauthorised adaptations.
