ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

Thursday 1st April 2021

Hello,

Thank you to everyone for feedback on the launch of our website. We are grateful for all your comments.

Here we are in April - I'm feeling optimistic - the clocks have gone forward and spring has definitely arrived. Hopefully, we are entering the final straight of lockdown. Soon all those things we took for granted over a year ago will be doable. We will be able to visit friends and family and they will be able to visit us too.
Just like this hedgehog that made an appearance in the North garden a few years ago.

Do you have any photographs (taken within the estate) that you would like to share? If so please email to me Contact Us
The photographs need to be of a high quality and preferably landscape. If suitable, your photographs may appear on the Gallery page or on the Home page of the website.

If you have any sightings of wildlife let me know. I have seen the kingfisher on one or two occasions but he's far too fast for me to catch on camera.

Abbey Gardens

Following a public consultation the Town Council is drawing up improvement plans for Abbey Gardens.

Conservation work on the trees is planned. This should benefit residents who live in Amber Rise and overlook Abbey Gardens, as work on the trees should reduce the amount of debris that falls over the wall and give more light and views to the bridge and the river.
I understand that different options to deal with the water that collects where Abbey Gardens links to the river footpath are being drawn up.

Other work which is being considered includes the ornamental seating being restored, new litter bins, repairs to footpaths and stone walls, and shrub replanting.

I am not sure when this work will begin but hopefully soon.
