Car parking in Shrewsbury is at a premium and no less so than here on TOM. It is however quite straightforward.
Each house and penthouse has two spaces and each apartment has one. There are no allocated visitor car parking spaces.
If you live in an apartment you will be given your parking bay number in your purchase or rental agreement.
If you need very short term, temporary car parking for a visitor or trades person please try and arrange this with a neighbour.
Parking anywhere, other than your allocated space, is not permitted unless BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY with the permission of the owner of the space.
It is particularly important that vehicles do not block the access to Network Rail's depot that is clearly marked with signage. Network Rail has a legal right to clear access at all times.
Parking caravans, camper vans, trailers, commercial or liveried vehicles, boats, or machinery is not permitted anywhere on the estate.
We are however fortunate that there is ample offsite parking within a very short distance.
The Abbey Foregate car park SY2 6AH is very close and is open 24 hours. Charges apply from 08.00 - 18.00. Parking is free between 18.00 and 08.00 and free all day on Sunday.
Also nearby NCP Wyle Cop (0.3 miles away); St Julian's Friars (0.4 miles away); and Raven Meadows multi storey near the bus station.
Sadly there have been and continue to be a number of residents who do not adhere to the estate's parking rules. Whilst every effort has been made to ask residents to toe the line this has been to no avail. The RMC, jointly with the managing agents, decided to introduce a parking enforcement scheme that will result in financial penalties. Before this is put in place some alternative, less harsh measures will be implemented to try to stop the parking issues and give all residents the opportunity to cooperate and comply.
